Gaetano Liberti (Italy, 1983) is an independent filmmaker with a background in visual art practices and acting. He received a Bachelor degree in Film Directing from the Film.factory - SFA in Sarajevo under the mentorship of Béla Tarr. From 2004 till 2012 he has been working as theatre performer in the productions of several Italian theatre companies. From 2005 he began to work with moving images, producing video works, performances, installations and researching on new devices. His film “J” was premiered at FID Marseille 2018 and was in the official selection at IFFRotterdam 2019.
Luciano Pérez Savoy (Mamou, Louisiana, 1993) is a mexican independent filmmaker. He graduated from the Bachelor Degree in Film Directing from the Film.Factory, programme founded and mentored by Béla Tarr. During his studies he participated in workshops held by Pedro Costa, Carlos Reygadas, Apichatpong Weerasethakul, James Benning, Abel Ferrara, Béla Tarr, among others. His first feature-length film titled “M-1” premiered in the 35th Torino Film Festival and won the prize for “Best International Documentary”. The film also screened in the Guanajuato International Film Festival, Sarajevo Film Festival, FIDBA in Argentina and the Monterrey International Film Festival, where it was awarded the prize for “Best Mexican Documentary”.
From the end of 2019 Gaetano Liberti and Luciano Pérez Savoy began to collaborate developing the project “Ciclos”. In 2022, they co-directed and produced the film “Can Someone Meet Me In Dark Alley?”, selected for the International Competition in FIDMarseille 33° and for the New Visions section of DocLisboa 20°.
